Videos of Grayson

These are just a few videos of Grayson's first few days here!

Here is a video of Grayson's first skin to skin time with Daddy. It is night time so of course he is alert with wide open eyes.

This was taken the morning we were discharged from the hospital. We are all dressed and ready to blow that popsicle stand!

This video is of Grayson's first car trip. We are headed home from the hospital. So far he loves the car and does nothing but sleep. :)

Here is Grayson meeting his big sister Layla for the first time. She was very curious about who this little bundle was. Now she is his protector. She whines at us when we burp him because she thinks we are hurting him. She always needs to be where he is and make sure he is okay.

Grayson Max Anker is here!

Grayson Max Anker was born at 7:55 AM on April 22, 2011. He was a scheduled C-section and even though he wasnt aware of that, he knew that that was supposed to be his birthday. Amy's water broke at about 1:15 the morning of the c-section. We went to the hospital and proceeded to hurry up to wait. :) Amy went into surgery at 7:30. Grammie (Amy's mom) and Nonny (Adam's mom) anxiously awaited his arrival from the waiting room. He was born and went with Daddy to the nursery to get weighed, measured, and scored on his Apgar test. He weighed 7 lbs 11 oz. and measured to be 20.5 inches long. He scored a 9/10 at his first Apgar test and then a few minutes later scored another 9/10. Already at the top of his class! We spent a few days at the hospital where he had a small case of jaundice. He spent two days in the Billi blanket and under some lights to help speed up the process. He is pretty adorable if we do say so ourselves!

We got home from the hospital Monday the 27th and have been trying to relax and recuperate since then. It has been great having Grammie and Nonny here to help with Grayson and my recovery. Attached are a few pictures of the first pictures of his life from the hospital taken by Amy's friend Kelley who also took her maternity photos.

2 Days to go......

Little Grayson decided that now he is gonna start to be a pain in the neck. He was doing so much wiggling last night I got very little sleep.

Just got back from doctor's appointment. Not much to report. Baby is measuring great and heartbeat sounds strong. I have had a very itchy belly lately and doctor diagnosed me with PUPPS. It is an itchy rash that comes during the third trimester. 70 percent of cases of this rash are male fetuses. Something about the hormones they are excreting. Fortunately, it is not harmful to me or the baby. Doctor says the only cure is delivery. Thankfully, that is not far away for me! For now I can put cortizone cream on it and take Benadryl as needed.

Went for my stress test which was also successful, as soon as she got him to cooperate. Oh my....this little boy better realize that this stubborn personality is not going to fly around here! Again I asked 1400 questions about the events that will occur at the hospital and I am beginning to feel relaxed. I mean, I am sure I will freak out when Friday comes, but at least I know what to expect.

Today will be another lazy day. Doing a few things around the house and then going to pick up Grammie at the airport later this evening!

Stay tuned for tomorrow's post....our last post as a family of 2 plus our furry friend. :)

3 Day Countdown

Here we are on April 19th awaiting our baby's birth in 3 days. We are all so ready for him to be here. Mom is now on maternity leave and enjoying the last few days of quiet around the house, but is anxiously awaiting Grayson's arrival. Dad is keeping busy with work to pass the time.

We have our last doctor's appointment and stress test tomorrow morning. Last chance to get our final few questions answered. We will update again after those appointments if there is any change.
