Almost 4 months old!

It has been a great couple of weeks around here. Grayson has definitely found his voice. He enjoys talking/screaming at his favorite toys around the house. He is doing great with his oatmeal in the morning. He definitely prefers that over the rice. I guess it has more of a taste. I can't bring myself to taste it. We have had great play dates with our friend Cooper. We enjoy going to musical story time at the library every Tuesday. He is always so well behaved and smiley. He definitely enjoys music. We have had a bit of a growth spurt this past week and our "little man" was eating 5 and 1/2 ounces at each meal and absolutely downing it. We weighed him last night and according to our scale he is about 15 lbs and 8 ounces. We go back to the doctor on September 6th for his 4 month check up. Can't wait to see his stats then!

Scroll down the bottom to see a video of the best sound you will ever hear. It cracks us up every time!
Isn't that the truth.
"Mom, leave me alone. I am trying to read here."
Here I am with my friend Cooper. We love playing together. Okay, our mommies really like to get together which is why we are friends. I met his mom Daphne in a parking lot several months ago. We have hung out a bunch since then and I think I have found us some really good friends.
Here is our man with Layla. He just started putting his hand on her and clenching his fists, aka petting her.

In the video below, you can't quite hear, but I am just pretending to eat him up making chomping noises. Evidently I am quite humorous when I do it.

15 weeks

Lots going on this past weekend! Friends Aly and Adley came to visit and meet Grayson. We had a great time with them and think that Aly needs to give Adley another sibling. :) She did such a good job with Grayson.

We have also noticed that Grayson is paying more attention to food and watching us very intently when we make his bottles. We decided he was showing all the signs and it was time to start some rice cereal. He did great. He knew to open his mouth when the spoon came close. Didnt make the cutest faces while eating though, it seems as if rice cereal doesn't taste so great. Now our morning routine consists of cereal for both baby and mommy! We are going to try oatmeal in a few days and see if the added sweetness goes over a bit better.

We also met up with our favorite photographer Kelley Halloran to take Grayson's 3 month photos. Again, we were thrilled with how they came out. Included here are a few of our favorites. Once again, he did a great job as a model. Had several outfit and scenery changes. Can't wait to add these photos to our "Grayson wall" to see how he grows and changes over his first year.

Adley cuddling with her "favorite baby." Below is Aly with a sleeping boy on her. :)
Daddy loves his Baby Bjourn. We just need the weather to get a little cooler so he can wear it outside! Grayson still loves it though as you can see by the smile on his face.
One of his first spoonfuls of rice cereal. What a big boy! Catch the video at the bottom to see part of the experience. You can hear his cheerleader Adley in the background.
He is starting to really enjoy his jumper. We had to put towels under his feet because he doesn't reach. He better get used to that! He isn't jumping yet, but he is stomping his feet and moving around. He plays with all of the toys and smiles as he plays.

Smiles, Smiles, Smiles

We have been having such a good time with our smiley boy. Just about anything will make him smile these days. He does it if you give him a simple look or ask him, "Who is the cutest baby?" We have found that he is a bit ticklish, but he has something I call "selective tickles." He laughs his brains out when we tickle him, but only sometimes. He must have to be in the mood to be tickled.
We have been doing lots of new things. We have gone to music story time at the library and have had several play dates with our new friend Cooper. We will post pictures of them together next time. He is so good when we are out of the house. I think he is intrigued by all of the new colors and objects to look at. Everyone always compliments me on how well he is behaved.
He has been grabbing things more and more! He figured out how to grab the toy that hangs above him in his car seat and pull it! It rattles when it goes back up. He loves it! Phew....something to entertain him in the car while Mommy is driving. I have gotten a lot of smiles on camera over the last few days. We love them so much we thought we would share!

"Look what I can do! I can hold two toys at once!"

Grayson has begun to notice Layla more and more. He hears her collar and looks around for her. Whenever she comes into view, it always makes him smile.

Now that he is reaching for things, we actually use the tray with our Bumbo. He likes to rest his hands on it and grab for different things. Here he is reading a book and playing with a toy. What a multi-tasker!
And of course, after it gets grabbed it goes......straight in the mouth! His goal with all of his toys is to get them into his mouth. He also gnaws on his fingers, thumb and pointer especially.
