6 month photo shoot and stats

So sorry for the delay! Been crazy around here. We had our 6 month doctor's appointment last week and Grayson weighed in at 18 lbs and 4 ounces. He is 26.5 inches tall. That keeps him in about the 50th percentile for both weight and height.

These days he is a professional sitter and anything he gets his hands on, goes directly in the mouth. Big news: We cut our first tooth yesterday! If you are looking at him, it is the one on the bottom right. We can see the bottom left one through the gums, so it should be making a grand entrance any day now.

We were having some issues with crying at bedtime/naptime. Doctor told us it was the beginning of separation anxiety now that he has the sense of object permanence. We are working on it, using the cry it out method, which has worked great. He now has no problem, knock on wood, for going to bed, we are having a few issues with him staying asleep. For some reason he thinks 430 or 5 is an okay time to wake up. Each day gets better and better and he is becoming a great self soother. Hopefully it just gets better and better!

He is still his happy go lucky self during the day. So much fun to play with and if he gets the least bit fussy, all you have to do is take him outside and he is in heaven. He sure loves to be out there! Laughing/smiling happens all the time and he is now obsessed with peek a boo. I pretend I cant find him, even when he is in my arms, and frantically look around saying, "Where's Grayson?" I finally look down to see a huge gummy smile staring right at me. I can't imagine what that smile will look like once there are a bunch of teeth in there!

Enjoy the rest of the pictures from our photo shoot with friend Kelley.

Grayson in a pumpkin!

Happy Halloween! I am so glad to have met my friend Daphne, she has the best ideas..... i.e. putting our children inside a pumpkin. No no, going to the pumpkin patch and getting pictures with pumpkins isn't good enough. :) They turned out adorable. Both boys were a little confused as to what we were doing, so we didn't get that many smiles, but they both were good sports. We then decided to move onto the playground and let them have their first "swinging" experience. They are so small they both fit in one swing! We had a great day. To make it more fun, both of our moms were in town so they got to join in with the laughs! Hope you enjoy our October themed pictures. Stay tuned for what is in store for November!

6 months old!

I am six months old! We have had a lot going on in the past month. Mommy had a trip to the ER and 2 days later had her gall bladder removed. Nonny and Grammie to the rescue! Nonny flew down to take care of Grayson while Mom was in the hospital and Grammie came a few days later and has been with us for 2 weeks. It is great having Grayson's grandmas here to spend time with. Grayson isnt due for his next doctor's appointment for another few weeks, so we will update his stats then. He still has no interest in rolling over but his new trick is that he can sit up on his own! It is a whole new perspective for him, and he loves it! He also has been blowing bubbles and spitting a lot. He turns bright red and we are afraid some brains might pop out, but it is quite humorous to watch! No teeth yet, but we must be getting close, drool and hands in the mouth are still the norm around here.

We felt bad there hasn't been a blog in a bit, so there are lots of pictures on this one. We went to the pumpkin patch today with our friend Cooper. We were a bit overstimulated I think. Not a whole lot of smiling, but he definitely was taking it all in. Lots of pictures of that are featured below.

Also below is a video of him laughing again. We can't get enough of it. It is hysterical.

Grayson and his Layla. He loves her!
We are growing! Onto size 3 diapers. :)

Cooper came over to "tailgate" and watch the Gator game with his parents. We won that game, that was before the Gators started to stink.
Look at me sitting all on my own!
Grammie made a delicious Rosh Hashanah dinner. We lit the candles and enjoyed some matzah ball soup.
Grayson is fascinated with the vacuum. He loves when I do it and watches it intently with his mouth wide open. Will have to get a video of that for next blog.
Great Grandma Esther made me this cute pumpkin hat for my Halloween costume. I am going to be a pumpkin.

Below are all the pictures from our first pumpkin patch adventure. Check out my monster socks! Mommy couldnt resist!

Look who is 5 months old!!

We have got ourselves a big boy over here! Still as smiley as ever. He has momentarily stopped being as vocal and the screaming is down to a minimum. We hope it will come back soon. :) Our biggest accomplishment since our last blog was that we are now eating some veggies with our oatmeal! He eats it right up, it is amazing. Makes mmmmm noises and everything. He is also giving Mommy open mouth kisses all over her face. He is especially drooly right now so Mommy ends up being soaked. Well worth it. He doesn't give his kisses to Daddy yet. We think he is turned off by the scratchiness that is Daddy's face. He is doing a great job at tummy time and pushes his chest all the way off the floor. He is getting much better at sitting up. He has found his toes and grabs them at any chance he can get. He finally fits in his exersaucer (with towels and blankets under him) and jumper (with board games and towels under him). He has the best time in his jumper and is in it for periods of 45 minutes at a time!

Check out the videos on the bottom. One jumping in his jumper and the other one with the best giggles caught on camera yet.

Look at me playing with my toy! He braces himself with one hand and lets himself play with the other.
Chillaxin...... just had some sweet potatoes. Mmmmmmm
Green beans are also good. :)
What are you looking at? Just let me play!
Hi, I am the cutest face ever!
Well Daddy had to carry the laundry upstairs and Mommy was washing dishes. This was our solution. :) Multi-tasking is our middle name.

4 months old and trip to Orlando

It has been an exciting couple of weeks around here. We got visits from Nonny, Grammie, and then went on a trip to Orlando. Just went to the doctor yesterday for 4 month shots. He did great, much better than Mommy. Grayson weighed in at 15 lbs and 13 ounces. He is 25.5 inches tall. He is in the 52nd percentile in both weight and height. The doctor said that he is very proportionate. :) We are now increasing the amount of oatmeal that he eats and instead of eating it only once a day, we moved up to a breakfast and a dinner. We will try some canned foods in another few weeks. He loves to eat, opens his mouth right up and has even started grabbing for the spoon. This trait is definitely like his mommy!

We just got back from a trip to Orlando where we saw my entire family. My sister, her husband Bill and our nephew James, my brother Andy and his girlfriend Chelsea, and of course Grammie and Gramps. We had a great time playing games, lounging by the pool, and just watching the boys play. We can't wait to do it again!
I have several new tricks. This is one of them. I can stand on my own for a few seconds at a time. This was a long one of about 15 seconds. I am also starting to suck on my bottom lip and blow bubbles.
Here are all the boys in the pool swimming.
The two little boys in matching outfits. :)
Still not quite sure about the pool. We are thinking it will be super fun for him as soon as he can be in the raft by himself and just swim around.

The boys had a whiffle ball home run derby. Grayson and I went out for a few minutes to cheer our Daddy on!
Some more matching outfits. Look how tall cousin James looks next to our little peanut.
Of course we are still chomping on our fingers at any chance we get. Doctor said she didn't see anything in his gums, but they looked a bit swollen. Only time will tell.
This shirt had an orange on it and said "Mommy's Main Squeeze."
Here we are back at home trying to get out of the brutal Florida heat by swimming in the kiddie pool.

Almost 4 months old!

It has been a great couple of weeks around here. Grayson has definitely found his voice. He enjoys talking/screaming at his favorite toys around the house. He is doing great with his oatmeal in the morning. He definitely prefers that over the rice. I guess it has more of a taste. I can't bring myself to taste it. We have had great play dates with our friend Cooper. We enjoy going to musical story time at the library every Tuesday. He is always so well behaved and smiley. He definitely enjoys music. We have had a bit of a growth spurt this past week and our "little man" was eating 5 and 1/2 ounces at each meal and absolutely downing it. We weighed him last night and according to our scale he is about 15 lbs and 8 ounces. We go back to the doctor on September 6th for his 4 month check up. Can't wait to see his stats then!

Scroll down the bottom to see a video of the best sound you will ever hear. It cracks us up every time!
Isn't that the truth.
"Mom, leave me alone. I am trying to read here."
Here I am with my friend Cooper. We love playing together. Okay, our mommies really like to get together which is why we are friends. I met his mom Daphne in a parking lot several months ago. We have hung out a bunch since then and I think I have found us some really good friends.
Here is our man with Layla. He just started putting his hand on her and clenching his fists, aka petting her.

In the video below, you can't quite hear, but I am just pretending to eat him up making chomping noises. Evidently I am quite humorous when I do it.
