Memorial Day weekend

We had a very exciting Memorial Day Weekend. We ran lots of errands and even had lunch in our first restaurant, Friday's! We had a great visit with Nonny and Great Grandma Jo. Look at this smile. We are still working on getting one with his eyes open. He is smiling more and more and we even think some of them are not gas related. :) He is also focusing more on objects, especially faces, for a longer period of time.

I got a new play mat and I LOVE it! It has all kinds of cool ocean creatures on it. Best of all, it has lights and music. I cant stop staring at it! It has an octopus with a rattle that hangs above me that I like a lot too.
We are using the pillow from our tummy time mat. Why hello there froggie! He liked looking at the face and pressing his hands on it too. It has a material in it that makes a crunchy sound.
Here is a picture of Grayson conducting and dancing to the music at the same time. It was hysterical. I am going to try to get some video next time.

Baby's First Day Out

This was a big weekend for us. We started off at the doctor on Thursday, May 26th. The doctor told us that Grayson was up to 9 lbs 14 oz! He is a great eater and obviously is growing well. He is in the 50th percentile for both weight and height. I am sure those, especially the height, will start to go down with time. Who knows, maybe we will be raising a basketball player. We made the executive decision that it was time to take baby out! He is now over 5 weeks old. Of course our first outing had to be a manly one. We were off to Home Depot to look for a new light fixture for the kitchen. If that wasn't enough, they were out of the one we wanted so, onto Lowe's! Again, we didnt see anything we liked, so off to another Home Depot. It was very exciting. Grayson slept right through all of it. That bodes well for Mommy when she is running errands alone. :)

Look at me! I am riding Layla! We loved the expression on his face and how straight up and tall he was sitting.

4 weeks/1 month old!

As of May 20th Grayson was officially 4 weeks old. We are a very big boy. We have increased the amount of food and we are now up to 4 ounces. We go back to the doctor tomorrow and are interested to see how much our baby boy weighs now. Stay tuned for that update!As some of our family members have pointed out, his official one month birthday was not until May 22nd so here was another picture from a few days later. You can tell by Grayson's expression that he is pretty over Mommy taking pictures of him in this little chair. We will now only shoot "months old" pictures on the 22nd of every month.
Here is Daddy showing Grayson the letters of the alphabet and the names of the correlating animals. I also learn numbers. They are in English and Spanish. I might be bilingual when I grow up.
I can sit up all by myself! (Just kidding, I am propped up in the corner. About 10 seconds later I had sunk down into the couch.)
Grayson got to meet Uncle Andy and Chelsea! They were in St. Augustine for a wedding and drove north to meet the little man! He was not too enthused with them and slept for most of the time that they were here.

Almost 4 weeks old!

Ok so this is now our favorite picture. Look at that cute face, couldnt you just eat him up? This was after bath time, which he now enjoys. We wrap him up tight in the towel and bring him over to his pseudo changing table downstairs. Here he receives the drying treatment as well as a massage with baby lotion. He particularly loves having his feet rubbed. We then redress him and brush his hair. He loves it!
May 18th was a big day for us! We have graduated from newborn diapers to size 1! Mommy and Daddy are still learning how to make these diapers tight enough so none of my "presents" leak out.
Here is a picture of bath time. The trick is having our BFF "paci" in our mouth during the start. We have learned that he doesnt really need her, but we arent taking our chances!
Had another mini-photo shoot with our little model. This blanket was a gift from Cindy one of the assistants at my school. We had to get some shots of Grayson on it.

Here is a small video clip from tonight's bath. This is definitely a two man process. Now that he doesn't mind it, we really enjoy the special time with our monkey.

I am 3 weeks old now!

Woohoo! I am 3 weeks old. I have done lots of peeing, pooping, and playing. Mom and Dad have learned that I do NOT like to have a wet diaper. I wail my brains out and they are learning to change me very quickly. I will however sit in my poop for any amount of time. I have been gradually going up with how much I eat. I am now up to 3.5 ounces at a feeding. I am growing big and strong. I went with Mom to her doctor's appointment and everyone was saying how cute I am. Can you blame them? Look at me! :)
I love to play on my activity mat in the sun room. I do a lot of looking around. Mom and Dad think I am going to be a nature boy when I grow up.

Check out my new puppy friends in my car seat. I love them, they are very soft!
We went on our very first stroll around the block on May 10th. Mom and Dad thought I might fall asleep, but I had no interest in that! I was too busy looking around at all the cool sights in my neighborhood.
More playtime on my mat. I love to be entertained!

Happy Mother's Day!

I was so excited to be able to celebrate my very first Mother's Day with my son. He is all the gift I needed!

It was so neat to have my mom here so we could celebrate Mother's Day together. We had a great day running errands and getting pedicures!

Grayson's first modeling gig

So here are some delicious 2 week old photos of our little man. They were taken by a professional photographer here in town. I featured the first photo on a previous blog, but she sent over the rest after. They are currently in frames waiting for daddy to hang them up in our house. Couldn't resist sharing some of the other poses with you.

Happy 2 week birthday to Grayson!

Today our little monkey is 2 weeks old! We had a very busy day. We had our first modeling gig. We had his pictures taken by a professional photographer. We cant wait to see how they turn out. We will post some as soon as we get them! We also had a doctor's appointment. We had one on Wednesday also. He weighs in at a whopping 8 lbs and 5 oz. We also noticed a small rash inside his diaper area. The doctor said it looks like a bacterial infection so we got some ointment to put on it. Doctor didn't seem concerned and said that it would clear up in no time.
This is the first picture that we saw from our modeling session today. Thanks to Alex Michele Photography here in Jacksonville, FL. She was like the "Baby Whisperer." We cant wait to see what else she got!
We lost our belly button on May 2nd so doctor told us it was safe to give him a regular bath. It started off great.
It wasn't long before he hated it! He screamed his brains out the second half of the bath.
May 5th was our first real time giving tummy time a try. He did a great job. Lifted his head for a few seconds each time and even turned it completely from left to right!
Grayson wants to wish everyone a happy Cinco de Mayo! Ole!
After tummy time we turned over and had some good play time on our back. Look at that shayna punim!
Just couldn't resist giving my little man a kiss! Layla had just given him several kisses herself.

Happy 1 week birthday to Grayson!

We have had a great first week with our son. Grammie, Nonny, Poppi, Mommy, and Daddy are so in love with this little boy. Poppi came up to meet his first grandson and brought a cake to celebrate his 1 week birthday. He was such a good sport and even posed with a birthday hat on.

Lots of Firsts!

This has been quite the journey for the last week. We have done many things for the first time. Above is a picture of Mommy reading a book to Baby Grayson in the hospital. It was called "On the Night you were born." I know he was only a day old, but I swear he was listening and focusing on the pictures.
This was a very exciting day for us. We left the hospital and they actually let us take the baby with us!
On Wednesday April 27th we had our first pediatrician visit. He was a star patient. He is back up to his birth weight and the doctor said he is a perfect specimen. :) She wanted to stay on top of his jaundice so we are going back this Wednesday just to be sure he is good to go.
Also on this day we took our first sponge bath. It was quite the experience. Our angel baby definitely enjoyed bath time, he loved having his face, head, and upper body washed. He was not too keen on the lower half of his body which he proved to be true when he started peeing all over us. It was a moment filled with a ton of laughter all around.
Since our baby boy has a ton of hair, we were able to use our baby brush after bath time. Again, he was such a good boy and really enjoyed this time.
This was Grayson's first trip outside in our backyard as well as our first family photo. We are so excited to be home!
